Nestled in the English Channel and just 14 miles off the coast of France, Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands and boasts a rich and varied landscape. From lush valleys and rolling sand dunes to golden cows in green fields and a wild coastline. Said to be the sunniest spot in the British Isles and with its unique blend of European influences due to its proximity to France, Jersey is the perfect place to relax and get away from it all.

Itinerary

Day 1: We make our way to our overnight hotel. On our arrival, there will be time to freshen up before our evening meal.

Day 2: After an early breakfast, we make our way from the hotel to the port for our ferry. On our arrival, we travel to our hotel where there will be time to unwind before dinner.

Day 3: Time to relax and enjoy a day at leisure. You may wish to explore St Helier, the vibrant capital of Jersey. Famous for its blend of historic charm and contemporary shopping experiences. From cobbled streets lined with high-street brands to quaint squares offering independent boutiques, shopping in St Helier is as much about the experience as it is about the purchases. For a more cultural experience immerse yourself in one of the fascinating galleries or museums in the town. If you feel a little peckish, you will find plenty of restaurants and cafés offering everything from the freshest seafood to hearty British classics or, if you prefer, a freshly brewed coffee with a delicate French pastry. Alternatively, you may decide to have a day of relaxation and enjoy the facilities of your hotel.

Day 4: Today we embark on a full day guided tour of the island. The tour follows Jersey’s spectacular coastline visiting the charming fishing village of St Aubin’s Bay. We carry on to St Brelade’s Bay, popular for its golden sandy beach and Corbière, where you will see the famous lighthouse and enjoy spectacular views. Passing the five mile beach at St Ouen’s, a favourite for surfers, we travel along  the scenic northern coastline prior to arriving at Gorey Harbour. During our tour, we will visit Hamptonne Country Life Museum. Step back in time to rural Jersey at this picturesque 15th century country farm estate. Discover six centuries of rural life and learn about bygone crafts and quirky traditions. This fascinating house and farm are brought to life with entertaining characters from the Island’s past.

Day 5: We have our morning at leisure before joining our excursion taking us to the Botanic Garden at Samares Manor. Created in the 1920’s by millionaire philanthropist Sir James Knott, The Botanic Garden offers many distinctive and unique plant collections that thrive in this exceptionally fertile soil. Wander through meticulously curated gardens, where rare plant species, vibrant blooms and aromatic herbs create a sensory paradise. From the tranquil Japanese Garden to the lush Rose Garden, every corner tells a story of timeless elegance and horticultural artistry. When you are in need of a rest, why not relax in the Rozel Tea Rooms, where locally inspired delicacies and homemade treats await.

Day 6: Another morning for a leisurely breakfast and perhaps a stroll to the esplanade, or maybe a visit to the few shops you may have missed on your previous visit. This afternoon we visit the Jersey War Tunnels, a thought provoking and extremely moving experience. The imposing, cavernous entrance tunnel will take you deep into the hillside, into a network of extraordinary tunnels unlike anything you have seen before. Find out what life was really like during the German occupation in WWll, from resistance, through to starvation, then eventual liberation. This fascinating exhibition is housed within an extraordinary underground tunnel complex built by the Germans using more than 5,000 slave labourers. These intricate tunnels are over 1,000m long, but the terrain is flat with easy walking.

Day 7: This morning we say goodbye to this beautiful island, and begin our journey home.
