Day 1: We make our way to Cheshire to the stunning Crewe Hall Hotel, arriving in time for dinner.
Day 2: This morning we travel to Wollaton Hall, a magnificent Grade I Elizabethan Mansion that houses Nottingham’s Natural History Museum. With its collection of 750,000 objects from fossils, minerals, plants, vertebrates and invertebrates, including rare specimens from across the globe, there’s a vast array of fascinating exhibits to discover. Home to industrialists, barons and Batman this classical prodigy house has been dubbed as ‘the architectural sensation of its age’ and is well known as the home of Bruce Wayne (Batman) in the 2012 film The Dark Knight Rises. There will be time to explore the Museum, the House and the natural beauty of the 500-acre gardens and parkland, which are home to herds of red and fallow deer.
Day 3: After breakfast, we head to the heart of Chester for a day at leisure to explore the beauty and unique atmosphere of this historical city. A beguiling and elegant destination with each chapter of history etched into the very fabric of its walls. This ancient city is home to the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain and a 1000-year-old Cathedral with Europe's finest example of medieval carvings. One of the most iconic and fascinating landmarks in Chester are The Rows, a unique architectural treasure that date back 700 years and now home to boutiques, independent shops and restaurants. These stunning two-tiered timber framed galleries create a shopping experience like no other. Wander through this historic setting and explore an array of delightful shops and cosy cafés.
Day 4: We travel to the vibrant city of Liverpool this morning and begin our day here with a visit to the award-winning Beatles Story; the world’s largest permanent exhibition devoted to the Fab four. You’ll be taken on a magical history tour for an immersive and atmospheric journey through the story of the lives, times, culture and music of The Beatles and learn how four young lads from Liverpool were propelled from humble childhood beginnings to the dizzy heights of worldwide fame and fortune. The afternoon is free to explore this diverse and exciting city at your leisure; maybe visit the Tate Gallery or Merseyside Maritime Museum at The Royal Albert Dock, enjoy a little retail therapy or even take a ‘Ferry cross the Mersey’.
Day 5: Today we say goodbye and begin our journey home.
