Portobello Road Market & Notting Hill

Notting Hill in west London is one of the capital’s most desirable areas with iconic pastel-coloured houses, a thriving market and renowned for its famous filming locations.

The popular Notting Hill Market is known as Portobello Market, so called because it runs along Portobello Road. The main market day on Saturday is the perfect day for bargain hunters with hundreds of antique and specialist shops and stalls. Nearly a kilometre long this bustling west end market offers an endless variety of merchandise as well as fresh fruit and veg and artisan food.

There are an abundance of street food vendors serving freshly cooked dishes from around the world including churros, bratwurst, paella, crepes and curry or alternatively eat-in and people-watch in one of the many independent cafes and restaurants.

Perhaps take time to visit the Museum of Brands which takes visitors on a nostalgic journey through 200 years of consumer culture. It offers an exciting new way of looking at history through the things that generations of families have thrown away. It’s a journey back through the memories of your childhood all brought back to life again.
