Day 1: We make our way beautiful to Cumbria making refreshment stops along the way. We will arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.
Day 2: After breakfast, we head out to enjoy the first of our excursions, starting with a trio of transport treats. We begin with a 40-minute Windermere cruise from Bowness to Lakeside pier before we embark on a nostalgic 20-minute steam train journey on the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway. When we arrive at Haverthwaite Station, we enjoy a lovely cream tea before we visit the Lakeland Motor Museum, featuring a unique collection of 30,000 exhibits.
Day 3: This morning we visit Dalemain Historic House & Gardens, a unique and slightly quirky house where we enjoy a guided tour. The house is set within five acres of historic gardens, home to the famous Himalayan blue poppies. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop to purchase some award winning marmalades! In the afternoon we travel to nearby Pooley Bridge and enjoy a tranquil 1-hour cruise showcasing 8 miles of mountain scenery on England’s most beautiful lake.
Day 4: This morning we join the Ravenglass & Eskdale Steam Railway and travel to the very heart of the Lake District, Dalegarth, where we disembark for a short break before our 40-minute return journey. Once back at Ravenglass station we re-join our coach for a short 10-minute drive to Muncaster Castle, Gardens, Hawk and Owl Centre, where we spend time exploring this haunted castle and its grounds!
Day 5: This morning, after breakfast, we must begin our journey home.
