Day 1: We travel to Herefordshire arriving in plenty of time to relax before dinner.
Day 2: Our excursion today takes us to the City of Hereford. Hereford straddles the banks of the River Wye with a friendly market town atmosphere. It is a walled city where the street plan is almost exactly as it was in medieval times. The modern city of Hereford is a treasure trove of historic buildings and artefacts, while the Old Market is a contemporary and buzzing shopping destination. Hereford Cathedral is regarded as one of the most beautiful cathedrals in England and a visit would not be complete without visiting the Mappa Mundi & Chained Library Exhibition, which draws visitors and scholars from across the world. The Hereford Mappa Mundi is the largest medieval world map to survive and the Chained Library holds over 1,500 rare books.
Day 3: After breakfast this morning, we make our way to Worcester with its majestic cathedral, beautiful riverside setting and compelling past. This is an impressive cultural city with an historic heart. There’s an abundance of spacious parks, peaceful gardens and fascinating museums and it’s a renowned shopping haven with an unrivalled combination of independent boutiques and high street names. The indoor shopping centre, Crowngate, is a treasure trove of fashion, homeware and gifts while the nearby bustling Angel Place Street Market is home to local traders selling a wide range of produce.
